The Exhibitionists podcast goes live

The Exhibitionists, a new podcast created by two leading commentators from the global trade show industry, Stephanie Selesnick and Antony Reeve-Crook, is now available to stream or download online.


The podcast, which is being carried on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and eight other widely available audio and podcast platforms, is aimed at anybody involved with international trade shows and interested in learning more about this colourful and catalysing industry.


The first three editions of the podcast feature interviews with the founder of the world’s leading trade show dedicated to the legitimate cannabis distribution industry, the CEO of industry association UFI on the impact of trade wars, and senior executives from three of the leading exhibition organisers making waves in Latin America.


The trade show industry is about much more than square metres and lanyards and with The Exhibitionists Selesnick and Reeve-Crook hope to demonstrate its global significance.


“Given our exposure to the events and education helping to drive this vibrant industry forward, and our many years spent discussing and writing about it, coupled with the simplicity and immediacy of podcast production, we figured we no longer had an excuse not to launch one for ourselves; and The Exhibitionists was born,” said Reeve-Crook.


“We both love this industry and the people who inhabit it,” added Selesnick. “Our goal is to showcase events and colleagues, be relevant and highlight the innovation that takes place literally all over the world. If listening to The Exhibitionists sparks a new idea, or helps others learn, we’re going to be thrilled. Podcasting is a whole different animal than the other types of media we’ve been involved with, and it’s been good fun to embark on this journey with Antony.”


With three episodes complete and available online, the time is right to start building an audience around The Exhibitionists, said Reeve-Crook. “We aim to be provocative but light-hearted, and won’t shy away from the big issues affecting the global trade show industry. As with any useful media product, The Exhibitionists will be shaped by the audience it serves, so we would love to hear from everyone with ideas for future episodes, as well as from those with feedback on the ones already uploaded.”


Stephanie Selesnick is the president of International Trade Information, Inc, which works with US-based trade show organisers to bring in more international exhibitors and visitors. She also helps US exhibitions go abroad. The company has worked with clients in a number of different industries to successfully increase their foreign participation. A former show organiser, Stephanie blogs for Trade Show Executive and UFI, and is a frequent speaker on the subject of internationalising exhibitions.


Antony Reeve-Crook is a journalist, editor and author of Where Markets Meet, with more than a decade’s experience writing for the global trade show industry, largely at the helm of UFI–endorsed Exhibition World magazine. He has since founded ArciMedia Ltd, a company dedicated to connecting global exhibition organisers with the cities that will enable their events to flourish, and shining light on the industries they seek to foster.
